What Our services Include:

We will do a few Fitness tests on you to see how fit you are when you start training with me, then I will assess them and advise on the areas I think we should concentrate on to help you along your way to fitness.

Weight and Height:

We will first see how much you weigh and how tall you are. This will help me calculate your BMI, (Body Mass Index). This is simply the amount of mass you have on your body.

UNDER 20         Too little body mass
20 TO 25          Average/Normal body
25 To 30           Overweight
OVER 30           Obese

SIT AND REACH TEST:

Sit & Reach

This will help me to see how flexible you are and help me to assess whether this area needs to be improved.
If so we can design a program to increase you flexibility.

VO2 max Test:

This can be a running test or a cycle test. Basically you run or cycle for 12 minutes. I do a quick calculation and tell you whether your VO2 max needs to be improved or not.
VO2 max is simply the amount of oxygen your lungs can take in, and distribute around your body.

This can be improved by doing more cardio vascular work, i.e. running, cycling, swimming, circuit training etc.

Specific Programs design for you:

Everybody has different goals, wants and needs. I will design a specific program around your wants and needs. We will start off with something that is manageable which steadily gets harder and challenges you more. When you feel ready we will go onto the next step. As you continue to progress we will test you so that you see the maximum benefits of the training you are undergoing.

Running:

We will start by taking you for a run. Not to far to start with, but a distance that is manageable for you, and a distance that you can cope with. This will then progress, and I will help you with your breathing technique, and help you find a good length of stride for you.

Circuit Training:

Once you have advanced and you feel a bit more cardio vascular fitness, we will progress to Circuit Training. This is a Circuit of between 6 to 10 exercises, each performed for 2 minutes at a time.
The following are examples of exercises that can be used in a circuit training session:

  • Upper-body

  • Press ups, Bench dips, Pull ups, Medicine ball chest pass, Bench lift, Inclined press up
  • Core & trunk
  • Sit ups (lower abdominal), Stomach crunch (upper abdominal), Back extension chest raise
  • Lower-body
  • Squat jumps, Compass jumps, Astride jumps, Step ups, Shuttle runs, Hopping shuttles, Bench squat
  • Total-body
  • Burpees, Treadmills, Squat thrusts, Skipping

As you can see, it will be a whole body work out, and test your cardio vascular fitness more, and you will feel great once completed.

SEVEN DAY NUTRITION PLAN:

Probably the most important factor to your fitness, other than actually doing the exercise is what you eat and drink, and how much of it.

I will put together a seven day Nutrition plan for you to follow. It will tell you at what times you should eat, exactly what you should eat and what to avoid eating and drinking.
I will tell you how many kilocalories your allowed every day, and also how many portions of everything you're allowed to eat.
It will incorporate meat, vegetables, fruit, water, protein, carbs etc.
